Environmental Policy

  • Pentagon will conduct its business in the supply of fine and speciality chemicals with due regard to minimising its impact on the local and global environment.
  • The company will fully comply with legal requirements and will adhere to the principles of the Chemical Industries Association Responsible Care Guidelines. In order to help achieve this, the company will operate an integrated management system which conforms to BS EN ISO 14001:2004.
  • The company is committed to the prevention of pollution. Atmospheric and aqueous emissions will be regularly monitored to ensure compliance with authorised limits and to set targets for improvement. Continual improvement in environmental performance will be achieved through a waste minimisation programme. Best Practical Environmental Option will be used as the criterion for waste disposal.
  • Annual objectives will be set and published; performance against these will be monitored by the Health Safety and Environment Committee with priorities and direction set by the board.
  • The company will involve and communicate with relevant interested parties, such as representatives of the local communities, local authority offices and regulatory officials and respond positively to concerns raised. This policy is published on the internet and is available on request to all interested parties, including customers, employees and the public.
  • This policy will be periodically reviewed with employee involvement and consultation. The company will ensure that the policy is understood by all employees and implemented throughout the organisation. All employees will be given environmental training relevant to their work and will be encouraged to contribute to the improving environmental performance of the company.
